In the five years that passed between their debut album and this record, Bajofondo evolved from a project devised by producers Gustavo Santaolalla and Juan Campodónico to an eight member band that toured the world.

'Mar dulce' produced by Campodónico and Santaolalla broadens the band sonic palette and has celebrity collaborations such as Elvis Costello, Gustavo Cerati, La Mala Rodríguez and Lágrima Ríos. Mar Dulce won a Latin Grammy Award in the category Best Alternative Song for 'El Mareo'.
